On this page are some of the wildlife seen during my recent visit to South Africa: These photos were taken by me during a 4 day visit and stay at Kruger National Park: I stayed at a Bush lodge called “Bush Kaya” At Kruger I was amazed by the size of the Park, which is the size of Wales UK - where I have lived most of my life: In all I spent a total of 4 weeks in a country that can be best described as colourful diverse and stunning in size: I was in the Bush during March and wow was it hot, luckily I was able to cool down each evening at the lodge pool. I had a lekker time:

The Kruger National Park`s history of nurturing biodiversity is deeply interwoven with a rich legacy of cultural diversity stretching back more than a million years. In years gone by, early hunter gatherers, traders, explorers and farmers passed through the area, encountering similar wildlife and vegetation to that which tourists treasure today. At least 147 mammals species, 507 birds, 336 trees,114 reptiles, 49 fish, and 34 amphibians have been recorded in Kruger, which is about 20 000 sq km - the size of Wales.

Kruger National Park Lying in the heart of the Lowveld is a wildlife sanctuary like no other. The largest game reserve in South Africa, the Kruger National Park is larger than Israel. Nearly 2 million hectores of land. The park is made up of 4 regions. (1) The central region: (2) The far north region: (3) The northern region: (4) The southern region: The southern region where I visited is bounded by the Crocodile River in the south and the Sabie River in the north:
